About Final.jpg

Born in 1992 in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anel currently lives and works in Vienna. His passion for music became evident at the age of four when he showed enthusiasm for the accordion and made his first stage appearance at the age of six.

In 2010, he graduated with distinction from the music school under the guidance of Prof. Midhat Zulić. He continued his education at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz in the class of Prof. Alfred Melichar.

His love for chamber music led to the formation of Duo Presto in 2016, which became part of Live Music Now, an organization founded by Yehudi Menuhin. This membership opened up new musical horizons and had a lasting impact on his interpretations.

Throughout his career, Anel has had the honor of collaborating with many exceptional musicians, including Claude Manach, who introduced him to the world of French chanson. This newfound passion led to the creation of the trio A Propos. A significant turning point in Anel's musical journey was his encounter with the Turkish composer, guitarist, and singer Alp Bora. Their collaboration and shared performances until the end of Bora's career left a profound mark on Anel's artistic path.

Anel is an internationally sought-after soloist and an active member of numerous ensembles and projects, such as Square Waltz, Sevkas Derman, Fakat Combo, Duo Presto, A Propos, Live Music Now, and Marietta's Salon "Les Artistes."

In 2018, he became Austria's first jazz accordionist to graduate from the Jam Music Lab University Vienna under the mentorship of Prof. Zoltan Migovics. In addition to his live performances, he is also a composer, arranger, and producer, running his own music studio in Vienna under the label Anel Records.

His unique style combines a passion for traditional Balkan music, gypsy rhythms, and the precision of classical music. This diversity inspires his virtuosic improvisations in jazz, tango, modern music, and klezmer genres.

Anel has performed on numerous renowned stages, including the Wiener Konzerthaus, Burgtheater, Brucknerhaus, Porgy & Bess, Hofburg, and Palais Eschenbach Saal. His music has been broadcast on stations such as ORF, ARD, Radio Ö1, Radio Judaica Strasbourg, HRT1, and RTVSLO.

In 2019, Anel began collaborating with renowned actor and director Thomas Declaude as part of the RE-ACTORS Vienna theater group, where he also contributed his musical creativity.

The year 2022 was marked by numerous exciting performances and new projects. One of the highlights was the duo concert with Claire Tudela on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Austrian-French Association. They presented a diverse chanson program to a full audience at Palais Eschenbach, captivating everyone present.

Another standout project was the cabaret program Götterfunken mit Fehlzündung, which charmed audiences with Viennese flair, humorous songs, and satirical texts. The program featured works by well-known artists such as Georg Kreisler, Herman Leopoldi, Peter Hammerschlag, and Jura Soyfer. Together with Thomas Declaude and Benedicta Manzano, the show was performed multiple times in Vienna and successfully in other regions, such as the Theater Westliches Weinviertel and at the Kleinkunstnacht in Straden (Styria).

A major milestone was the founding of his own band, Fakat Combo, which delights audiences with traditional songs from the entire Balkan region. The formation has already celebrated numerous successes with performances in Austria, Croatia and Bosnia, establishing itself as a distinctive musical project.

In 2023, Anel released a new album as trio Square Waltz as a composer, arranger, and producer under his own label Anel Records. The album was presented during an exhilarating concert at a packed Wiener Konzerthaus and was enthusiastically received by the audience. Additionally, the band participated in the prestigious Kultursommer Wien festival.

With the Balkan band Fakat Combo, Anel collaborated for the first time with the WienXtra association, performing an energetic show as part of the popular children's program Ferienspiel Wien.

A special musical highlight was the concert with the international ensemble Sevkas Derman, consisting of artists from Bosnia, Austria, Serbia, Hungary, Iran, and England. In Krems, they presented a unique program to over 250 listeners, blending Bosnian sevdalinke with Persian melismas, jazz-influenced improvisations, and oriental rhythms.

Anel combines musical versatility with artistic passion, leaving a lasting impression on every stage he performs on.

Anel plays Dallape and Roland accordions.
